Desktop Wallpapers featuring a variety of albums from various Musical artists. Music is very personal. I get that. I’m not saying these albums were the most popular, or the best, or that I personally like them, but they were probably important albums. More will be added over time and I’ve started to organize them against the Rolling Stone Top 500. Yes, I have a long way to go.
For each, I used a color from the album’s artwork for the background. I don’t know why I chose that color, but it just felt right. Unless you make a very convincing argument, I’m not going to change it. Within each tab, the albums are listed alphabetically based on band name or artist last name.
If there is an album you may want, leave a comment with your request and I’ll see what can be done. If you do make a request, think about it and be specific. No re-do’s.
Over the past three days, I’ve received requests for Cinderella, Quiet Riot, and Twisted Sister. Is there a run on cheesy 1980s hair metal bands or something going on?

Stephen, hello. You made some wallpapers for sister Melanie a couple days ago. She showed me them, they looked fantastic. Would you possibly be able to make 2 also, if you have time. Quiet Riot. Mental Health and Twisted Sister, Stay Hungry. Thank you.
I totally agree that you should. He was one of the most talented for sure. Thank you.

Stephen, good day. I know you don’t have any classical music on here, but wanted to know if you could make this for me. He is a wonderful musician. Thank you. The album is james rhodes bullets lullabies.
Hi Mike. No problem. The Phish album is up in the “Other Albums” tab. I’m not one to reference Wikipedia often :P but in it’s entry for this album, it noted that it was also called “The White Tape”…so I did two versions – one that included “The White Tape” with the album name, and one that did not. If you could tell me which version is the more appropriate/accepted way people reference it, I’ll remove the other. Enjoy!
Had the album up to a couple years ago. From what I see ” The White Tape” was actually a album of demos that were sent out. I would roll with the “The White Tape”. Great job :p

Stephen, would you be able to do George Michael’s “Faith”
Curious if you have any thoughts, opinions, feedback on the layout of these album backgrounds? I wanted to do something that was consistent and incorporated the album art, the songs. I figured the songs lower left and album art lower right were viewable on a typical computer screen when doing work in the middle. Not really designing for mobile is probably their only downfall.
I actually like the way you have them done. Covers all the bases. Sorry it has taken a while to get back to you. Would you possibly be able to do George’s Listen Without Prejudice? This is my work email, I know it’s different.
I have some graphic design experience, but you have the technology. What about using the album cover as the background? That might be too complicated. Just a thought in my mind :))
I considered that approach but thought that there is such a wide variance in album art design that it would drive too many design complications requiring too many ‘one offs’. I wanted to keep the format as standard as possible. Also, I was thinking that from a User Experience perspective,on a computer desktop. whatever you are working on is generally in the middle, so having the album art to the right and the songs to the left would allow “you” to see the elements of the album while continuing to do whatever you are doing on the computer.
