This is Stephen Clark's website. It is coming to you live from New Jersey USA. This is essentially a digital outlet for him to share his thoughts, perspective and interests. One Year Anniversary

So this week marks our first year living in our house. I suppose we can’t call it “our new house” anymore…its just our plain old house. So what did mother nature do to help us celebrate? She dumped 2 feet of snow on February 13th. Below are some photos of our cars buried in snow in our driveway.

On the whole, our first year has been great. We have made an immense amount of progress in updating and renovating the house. We have really transformed the interior rooms from the state they were in when we purchased. The kitchen is the one space we would like to really overhaul, however as we all know, renovating that room requires a huge chunk of cash. The one space that still needs a great deal of work is the basement and we are still working on that.

So, happy birthday house. Its been a great first year. Here’s to 29 more good years here (at least!).

Homeownership

Today, we closed on the purchase of our first house. The house is located in East Brunswick, NJ. The home buying process was a long and arduous one due in large part to the difficulty presented by the sellers. I won’t go into any detail, but lets just say they did not make the process any easier. The house does need a great deal of work, however we are excited to have the opportunity to upgrade the house to the way we want it! As the days, months and years progress, we will be doing our best to keep a log and document our progress, including before and after photos to document the evolution of our home. As a general statement, our house needs a lot of work and everything needs an upgrade and a cleaning.
