Back in November during Election season, I am sure everyone saw the This Land is Your Land animation spoof of John Kerry and Dubya from JibJab. They have now come out with a couple more including a hysterical one called Good to Be in DC and the newest, Second Term. The guys who created these spoofs were even honored by ABC News as one of their “People of the Year” at the end of 2004. This is very good humor, although I must admit that the Good to be in DC one is by far the funniest.
I think I have a real serious problem with Amber Frey going on a book tour promoting the “book” Witness she has just released. Say what you want, but at the end of the day she is profiting off of the Scott Peterson trial and what he did to his wife Laci. I mean, why would anyone purchase this book? She seems to be pretty dim and I would be hard pressed to think she has any sort of writing abilities.
This is the old tub. A beautiful powder blue.
The first photo is looking from the kids bathroom into the master bathroom. The second photo is looking from the master bath through the wall to the kids bathroom.
This is how the master bathroom looked when we purchased the house. Look at that shower…yummy!! And all that sponge painting…somebody pinch me!!
This is how the kids bathroom looked when we purchased the house. Gotta love the powder blue floor and wall tiles.
Over the Christmas and New Year’s weeks, we were able to get our bathrooms wired with new lights and plug fixtures. Our electrician did an amazing job installing recessed lights in the ceiling and GFI outlets. Once we get the walls and tiles installed, they will be looking good!!
Apart from that, I continued in my quest to rid the house of wallpaper and made significant progress towards that goal. I completed the kitchen and abut 98% of the laundry room. The next task is the downstairs half bathroom which is very small and should not take too long.
The first of what I am sure will be numerous “gotchas” surfaced when I discovered that the geniuses who lived there previously painted over wallpaper on the 2nd floor of the main hallway. The challenge is that this wall is located at the base of the stairs on the 1st floor and extends all the way to the 2nd floor ceiling. Removing this wallpaper will not be fun. Oh, the joy.
This is the staircase down to the basement. Pretty groovy, huh? Definitely needs a disco ball at the bottom of the stairs. We’re actually going to keep this wallpaper on the walls.
